Bring the messy version
You do not need a polished brief. The best calls usually start with the awkward reality: spreadsheet workarounds, supplier noise, client data concerns, slow follow-up or a tool someone already started using.
- The workflow, reporting pack, client journey or tool decision that is creating pressure.
- A rough sense of who touches the process and where manual work or rework appears.
- Any hard constraints: regulated data, client confidentiality, supplier commitments, deadlines or budget boundaries.
This is not
- A generic AI demo with no business problem attached.
- Advice to remove human judgement from regulated or client-impacting work.
- A promise that AI will be the answer before we have looked at the process.
If there is no sensible project, we will say so. The point is to save time before a vague AI idea becomes an expensive distraction.
